If you are ordering a reading from me, I will normally use the Universal Waite deck, a deck based on the Rider-Waite deck, but with brighter images. (However, you can request any of the decks on this page for your reading — I am happy to oblige!) This is my favorite deck for quick readings.
For readings with a more spiritual focus, lately I like to use Lo Scarabeo’s Yoga Tarot. This is also a nice deck for looking at health issues or at the involvement of the chakra energy centers in any particular issue.
For business readings, I like to use Massimiliano Filadoro and Giancarlo Caracuzzo’s Samurai Tarot. However, this deck definitely has a spiritual side as well. One of the fun aspects of the Samurai Tarot (aside from the fact that it has dragons in it!) is that the court cards are all based on historical and/or legendary figures from Japan.
For tarot readings on the fly, while I’m running around, I sometimes will use Tarot to Go — the tiniest tarot deck I have ever seen — so tiny that I have not tried to scan in any of the cards yet to use on the website.
Oracle Card Decks
Some readers don’t like to use oracle card decks, but I absolutely love them. If you are having a rough day, you can’t go wrong with a reading from an oracle card deck. Here are a few of my current favorites:
- Toni Carmine Salerno’s Universal Wisdom deck
- Doreen Virtue’s Archangel Raphael Healing Oracle Cards (a deck that I especially love, because when my 8-year-old jokingly asked the deck if she should go to bed, out of 44 cards she pulled the one that said, “Yes!”)
- Doreen Virtue’s Magical Messages from the Fairies Oracle Cards (yes, this deck is all about fairies — and that’s okay)
